System of Work on Professional-Personal Orientation of Students with Intellectual Disabilities

Abstract

This article is devoted to the system of work on professional-personal orientation and identification of psychological conditions for optimizing professional and labor adaptation of mentally retarded senior school students. The article expands the theoretical understanding of the development of professional self-determination of senior school students with mental retardation, the necessity of including parents of mentally retarded students in professional consulting and career guidance work is proved, the interaction of the correctional school with institutions of primary vocational education and enterprises that employ graduates is justified.To study the personal qualities of mentally retarded senior school students, it is necessary to select and adapt psycho-diagnostic tools that take into account the peculiarity of their mental development.On the basis of a comprehensive study, the features of the development of mentally retarded adolescents at the end of school education are described, and new data on the features of their professional self-determination are obtained.Based on the results of the study, the psychological conditions for optimizing professional and labor adaptation of mentally retarded senior school students were determined.
