Reading Comprehension of Elementary School Students at DKI Jakarta

This study aims to determine the effect of learning strategies and cognitive style on reading comprehension. This research was conducted at the fourth grade students of SDN 01 Pagi Pejaten Barat, South Jakarta. The research strategy used was experimental research strategy and design with a 2x2 factorial design study. Data analysis technique used is the analysis of variants (ANOVA) Two Way. The sampling technique is done by simple random sampling technique. The results of a study showing (1) there are differences in the average value of reading comprehension of students who learn to use learning strategies Quantum Teaching and learning using SAVI learning strategies; (2) Reading comprehension of Indonesian students who have cognitive style Independent Field higher compared with students who have the cognitive style field dependent; (3) There is an interaction effect between learning strategies and cognitive style on reading comprehension ability of Indonesian students; (4) the ability of Indonesian students' reading comprehension is more appropriate field independent quantum teaching learning strategies; (5) students with field dependent cognitive style more appropriate to use SAVI learning strategies. From these results we can conclude there are significant learning strategies and cognitive style on reading comprehension.
