Abstract

Tes talents and interests are carried out with the aim of finding prospective new students for their ability to enter vocational arts and culture. Through the results of these aptitude and interest tests can get a picture of readiness to follow the learning process of art, design, and crafts. By ensuring the choice of competency expertise in accordance with the talents and interests are expected to be more stable in the learning process and more achievers. Mistakes in determining the choice of competency expertise can have an adverse effect on prospective new students. When they go through the learning process it is usually difficult to follow, so lazy, the value obtained is not optimal, even many who drop out of school. One of the causes of this is due to the mistakes of prospective new students in choosing expertise competencies not in accordance with their talents and interests. This study aims to determine the effect of aptitude tests and the interests of prospective new students to be more stable in choosing competency skills. In addition to using aptitude and interest tests, supported decision-making processes for interests are based on John L. Holland's theory, for talent is based on Howard Gardner's theories.
