The study summarizes the influence of information technologies on economic growth in a regional context based on the global analysis. The analysis covered the research period from 1996 to 2019 and focused on six countries with different levels of income, economy and e-commerce development: The United Arab Emirates, Colombia, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Russian Federation and Serbia. The purpose of the research is to study the impact of e-commerce on the regional economy through the intensification of information technologies. It has been proved that at the regional level, the introduction of information technologies has a positive effect on the economic growth, as well as the educational skills of their users. A new trading landscape is being shaped by the active use of information technologies on e-commerce platforms regardless of national borders. E-commerce expands the traditional market, which is supplemented by a distribution channel without the efforts to strengthen competition. This positively affects the welfare of the region. The analysis showed that e-commerce faces difficulties at the regional level, namely, legislative standards, quality and cost of labor resources and Internet access. It has been revealed that new forms of interaction in the B2B and B2C sector are becoming increasingly popular research topics; they require reliable empirical measurement and offer directions for future research.
